Lochranza Youth Hostel
Until 11 February 2010 - Available for Rent-a-Hostel only
February 12 2010 to 25th October 2010 - Open Every day
25th October 2010 to February 2011 - Rent-a-Hostel
We stock a range of maps, walk guides and information leaflets for the island. We also have local souvenirs for sale including Arran Stonemen made in Lochranza.
There is no food shop in Lochranza. The nearest shops are the Co-Op in Brodick 15 miles away or a village store at Pirnmill, on the west of the island, about 7 miles from the hostel.
You can get a meal at the Lochranza Hotel, The Golf Club and Arran Distillery all of which are within walking distance. There is also The Sandwich Shop near the Lochranza ferry terminal.
Our shop stocks pasta, rice, soups, pasta sauces, ready meals, snacks and soft drinks. Sorry but because of the distances to the shops we are unable to offer bread or milk.
If you are wanting any ideas on things to do and places to see, we have lots of information available. We can also recommend good walks, bike rides and the best places to see wildlife
Don't risk turning up without a booking. If we are full then the chances are everywhere else in the village will be.
At the weekends it is not unusual for the whole island to be fully booked
