Travel from Brodick Ferry Terminal
For details on getting from mainland Scotland to Brodick see our travel to Arran section and the Ardrossan to Brodick ferry page.
Once on the island it is easy to travel to Lochranza hostel :-
- By car or bike - Leave the ferry terminal and turn right along Brodick sea front. Follow this road (the A841) for 15 miles until you arrive in Lochranza village. The hostel is on the left a few hundred yards after the distillery, set back a short distance from the road. There is car-parking on site.
- By bus - SPT bus 324 leaves from just outside the ferry terminal and will take you direct to Lochranza village. If you ask the driver he should stop the bus outside the hostel. The bus normally leaves 10 minutes after the ferry arrives and the fare is £2.50.
Insider Tip. There is no shop in Lochranza, so for drivers and cyclists it's a good idea to stock up on food in Brodick. You will pass a Co-Operative Supermarket
a few hundred yards from the ferry terminal.
If you are travelling by bus you will not have time to go to the Co-Operative, but there is an Asda supermarket just a few hundred yards from the ferry terminal in Ardrossan.
When you are leaving Lochranza the 324 bus is timed for catching the Brodick ferry
